Loren “Michael” Friedman LMT #18216
Loren “Michael” Friedman LMT is the Founder of Oregon Medical Massage and owner of the practice. He is an Arizona born and raised, 2008 graduate from the Northern Arizona University’s College of Liberal Arts Anthropology Department where he studied Cultural and Physical Anthropology, with an extended focus on Human Evolution and Earth Sciences. After graduating with a Bachelors of the Arts in Liberal Studies, he then moved to Eugene, Oregon where he continued to study Health Sciences, taking numerous courses in Human Biology, Physics and Chemistry where he eventually graduated from Lane Community College’s Massage Therapy Program in 2011, although he continued his studies in sciences there until 2014. Michael was first Licensed in 2014 by the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists, though he has been studying body work since 2009. He has been certified in Medical Massage Therapy since 2019 and after obtaining training and certification in Medical Massage, formed Oregon Medical Massage in 2019, and later the parent company OMM, LLC in 2020.
Michael’s work is largely a synthesis of Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, Manual Assisted Stretching, Muscle Energy and Deep Tissue Techniques, as well as incorporating knowledge from a wide variety of sources and trainings through out the years practicing with numerous modalities. He incorporates Instruments and Tools such as Cupping and Stainless Steel Scraping Tools to address and improve dysfunction, as well as utilizing the hands and various parts of the body to achieve successful treatments. His work begins through careful observation and analysis, employing various tactics to suss root causes out and correlate the complaints of the patient with the observed findings in order to develop the best treatment strategies for the patient. He brings over a decade of clinical experience into the treatment room and carries a large toolbox of modalities and techniques which he incorporates into each session in order to deliver results to his patients.
On a personal note, Michael enjoys gardening, woodworking, camping and listening to music. His father was a Licensed Massage Therapist in Arizona before his passing, and his mother is a retired Doctor of Osteopathy from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) at the University of Virginia at Blacksburg. She worked in family medicine at the Cleveland Clinic and at the University Hospital System as an educator and trained numerous healthcare professionals throughout the years. She currently is involved in Oregon Medical Massage as an independent advisor to the clinic.

Kristopher Brown LMT #22480
Kristopher completed his studies at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland in 2016. His work is informed by the understanding that massage therapy should be both effective and restorative, supporting the body’s natural ability to recover, adapt, and function at its best. He approaches each session with the goal of addressing physical tension and discomfort while also creating an environment that allows the nervous system to settle and the body to respond more efficiently to treatment.
His technique incorporates Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hawaiian-style Lomi Lomi, and Myofascial Release methods, which he blends into a smooth, continuous style of bodywork. This integrated approach allows him to work both specifically and holistically—targeting areas of restriction, muscular tension, and imbalance while maintaining a sense of flow throughout the session. The result is a treatment that is focused and therapeutic, while still feeling cohesive and supportive to the body as a whole.
Kristopher’s work is adaptable to a wide range of needs, from clients seeking relief from chronic tension or pain to those recovering from physical strain, repetitive use, or injury. By adjusting pressure, pacing, and technique, he is able to meet each individual where they are, creating sessions that are both appropriate and effective for their condition and comfort level. His intention is to support improved mobility, reduce discomfort, and help restore more natural movement patterns over time.
A key part of his approach is recognizing that the body often responds best when treatment is both intentional and gradual. Rather than forcing change, his work encourages the release of tension through consistent, attentive contact, allowing tissues to respond and shift in a more sustainable way. This helps reduce guarding and supports longer-lasting results.
Each massage is customized to the individual, taking into account their current concerns, areas of tension, and overall goals for treatment. Whether the focus is on a specific issue or more general full-body work, sessions are designed to support both immediate relief and ongoing physical well-being.
While his approach is grounded in therapeutic outcomes, Kristopher also values the importance of creating a calm and comfortable experience. By combining clinical awareness with a steady, attentive style, he provides care that supports both physical function and an overall sense of ease within the body.

Katey Seefeld LMT #8221
Katey was drawn to the healing arts from a young age through a connection to nature, movement, and the wisdom of the body. As a kinesthetic learner by nature she found insight, grounding, and healing through movement and dance. This embodied awareness eventually evolved into an intuitive understanding of how the body holds stress, tension, emotion, and the potential for healing
Her interest in massage therapy began in her teenage years after visiting a massage clinic and experiencing an environment that felt noticeably different from the fast paced world outside. This left a lasting impression that sparked an interest in bodywork and somatic therapies. She became increasingly interested in natural approaches to health and in modalities that supported the body’s own restorative processes.
Katey began her formal massage therapy studies in 1998 at the Kansas City School of Massage Therapy, where she completed electives in Swedish massage, Therapeutic Touch, and Cranial Sacral Therapy. In 2000, she attended the MountainHeart School of Bodywork and Transformational Therapies in Crested Butte, Colorado. This intensive 800-hour program provided extensive training in neuromuscular therapy, injury rehabilitation, myofascial release, somatic mind-body and trauma therapies, sports massage and more. The program emphasized balancing muscle units, addressing long-held neuromuscular compensation patterns, correcting postural imbalances, and supporting functional movement and recovery. While at MountainHeart, Katey also pursued electives in doula training and neurolinguistic patterning.
After graduating, Katey worked in a variety of clinical and wellness settings in the Crested Butte area including the Mount Crested Butte ski resort, Club Med and The Crested Butte Club. While there she also began herbal medicine studies with weekend workshops at the Rocky Mountain Botanical Institute. After returning to Oregon, she developed a mobile massage practice offering chair and table massage at homes and businesses and worked at Rejuvenation Health Spa. Over the years she also worked at chiropractors offices and a variety of shared healing spaces.
Her fascination with the body and commitment to learning led her to pursue further studies at Lane Community College, where she studied anatomy and physiology, cell biology, psychology, botany, dance, and Continuum Movement — a somatic healing practice using breath, sound, and movement to deepen connection with the body. She later attended the Columbines School of Botanical Studies, completing an in-depth apprenticeship in botany, wildcrafting, and community herbalism. From about 2010 to 2014, Katey also served as a fill-in anatomy and physiology instructor for Lane Community College’s Massage Therapy Program
Katey’s current work draws heavily from her training in neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. She works with clients experiencing chronic pain, postural dysfunction, injury recovery, repetitive strain patterns, stress-related tension, and movement restrictions. Her approach focuses on identifying and addressing underlying myofascial restrictions and compensation patterns while supporting greater structural balance, mobility, and long-term pain management. Personal experience recovering from a back injury further deepened her understanding of chronic pain, rehabilitation, and the role that movement, anti-inflammatory nutrition, exercise, and body awareness can play in recovery.
